…because it is a matter of my heart!
It is about helping people – children, women, and men.
To date, over 6 million people have fled the civil war in Syria. 2.8 million of them left their homeland to seek save havens in the neighbouring countries – mostly Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey, Iraq, and Egypt.
It doesn’t look likely that the civil war in Syria will come to an end soon, hence, the number of refugees is constantly rising. UNHCR expects a refugee population of over 4 million by the end of 2014 – and that means: We are wittnessing one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history!
I cannot be a passice wittness anymore – reading about this crisis, watching the news, talking about how bad things are, that in the 21. century we are really still dealing with such human tragedies!
So, I decided to go to Turkey and give a helping hand!
